Phyllis Paulyne
Evans
Oct 27, 1931 — Jan 7, 2026
Phyllis Evans, beloved mother, grandmother, and faithful friend, was born October 27,
1931, in Wichita, Kansas, and died in Plano, Texas, on January 7, 2026. She was 94.
Phyllis carried a steady, grateful spirit through a long life marked by devotion to family
and a deep Christian faith. A devoted mother of six, she had a gift for encouragement.
She offered practical wisdom, gentle reassurance, and the kind of care that made people
feel supported without fanfare. She believed in the power of prayer and faithfully lifted
up those she loved, especially in difficult seasons.
In a season when pain and the limits of aging were close companions, she returned
often to Psalm 91:16: "with long life will I satisfy thee and show you, My salvation." The
verse reminded her to give thanks for a long life and to trust God through change.
She was also a lifelong writer at heart. Her warmth showed up in small, faithful ways: a
kind word at the right moment, gratitude expressed plainly, and tenderness that many
will recall as uniquely her. For everyday joy, a Wendy's Frosty could usually do the trick,
a simple favorite that never failed to make her smile.
In later years, Phyllis met new limitations with determination and dignity. She remained
focused on what mattered most: faith, family, and the quiet routines that bring stability
and peace. She leaves a legacy of steadfast love, humble strength, and sincere kindness.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Lee Evans Jr.
Phyllis is survived by her children Robert Evans and his wife Cindy, Sheri Evans, Michael Evans, Lauri Sandquist and her husband Jeff, and David Evans, and by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis Evans will be remembered for her gentle faith, her steady encouragement, and
the love she gave so freely.
