Velia Saenz Pickrell of Irving, Texas passed away on March 18th 2017, after a four year long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 64 years old. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico to Abel and Antonia Saenz, she came to live in El Paso as a child, where she graduated from Bel Air High School. After meeting her future husband Steve, she moved to Irving, and they were married on April 26, 1985. They spent almost 32 wonderful years together. Velia is survived by her husband Stephen E. Pickrell, daughters Jennifer D. Pickrell (spouse Chad A. Evans) & Kelly S. Pickrell (spouse Lacie L. Stewart), step-daughter Kathryn A. Sikes (spouse Andrew Sikes), grandsons Morgan A. Evans & Maddox E. Evans, siblings Mague Gerardo (spouse Ernesto Gerardo), Irma Saenz, Maria Elena Saenz, & Abel Saenz II (spouse Rosalinda Saenz.), siblings in law Mary Wesevich & John F. Pickrell (spouse Rhonda Pickrell), 23 nieces & nephews, and her beloved dog Melbourne (Mel) Pickrell. Service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Aria Irving Chapel.
