Richard Eugene Powe passed away on August 22, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 25, 1944. He is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Luanna Jean Burton, four children: Allison Rene Brock, Richard Gregory Powe, Lori Ann Powe and Timothy Scott Powe, and two grandchildren: Ethan Richard Brock and Aislynn Suzzane Brock. His father, Francis Eugene Powe; mother, Dorothy Victoria Dickey; and brother, David Dickey Powe preceded him in death. Richard grew up in Devine, Texas and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1966. He was a registered Professional Engineer in Texas. He spent over 40 years working on aerospace projects such as the NASA Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs; construction of commercial nuclear power plants, nuclear waste disposal and oil refineries; manufacturing of railroad cars, and automobile parts. Richard enjoyed watching old westerns, playing chess, and eating a good steak. He loved his many jobs and remembered his colleagues with fondness. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
