Flora Henryetta (Reeves) Raab Obituary
Flora Henryetta (Reeves) Raab passed away peacefully on November 7, 2021 with her family at her side.
Flora was born March 26, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Henry Duncan Reeves and Flora May (Smith) Reeves. The Reeves family resided in Valiant, Oklahoma and Flora was a 1961 graduate of Valiant High School. Flora attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in accounting.
Flora married George Raab in May 1963. Soon after their marriage, George and Flora were stationed at military bases throughout the U.S. and Europe in connection with George's service in the U.S. Army. Many of Flora's fondest memories came during her time traveling throughout Europe where they enjoyed many adventures together. Upon returning to the U.S. they found home and community in Watonga, Oklahoma where they raised their family and remained until their passing.
Upon completing her degree Flora worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for several years. She then decided that John and Laura both needed a "closer eye" and began serving as a substitute teacher in the Watonga middle and high schools. Once John and Laura were in college, Flora served as a librarian in the Watonga public library until George's passing in 1992, at which time she decided to retire and devote her time to travel and spending time with family and friends. She was a devout believer in her Lord, Jesus Christ, and always had a word of encouragement or assistance for those in need.
Flora is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Flora Reeves; her husband, George Raab; and her siblings, Mary Raines, Wanita Saniky, Jack Reeves, Tom Reeves, and Wilburn Reeves.
She is survived by her son, John Raab; her daughter and son-in-law, Laura Coley and David Coley; her granddaughters, Alexis Coley and Alisa Coley; and her siblings, Bessie Ronat, Loretta Haney, Edna Radar, Eugene Reeves, and Walter Reeves.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 19th at 1:30 pm at Oasis Church in Watonga, Oklahoma. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately before the service and relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
