Obituary

Patricia Ann Reavis, age 84, of Rainbow City, Alabama, passed away from an extended illness on September 28th 2015 in Dallas, Texas. She was born February 9th 1931 in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Cowan Roddy Patterson & Catherine Vice Patterson. During Patricias senior year of high school she worked as a proofreader for the Gadsden Times and ran concessions at the Pittman Theatre. She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1948 with honors. Afterwards, she worked at WGWD radio doing books and recording commercial spots for clients. A self taught accountant, Patricia went on to work for her brothers, Cecil and Bill, doing accounting for their businesses for many years. She also managed a chain of Majik Market stores and was loved by many employees and customers. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Cecil Ishmael Patterson and wife Joan, and Bill Samuel Patterson and wife Rene. She is survived by her son, Roddy K. Reavis, of Plano, Texas, her nieces, Sara Cathrann "Tissie" Patterson and Tina Watford, and her nephew, Phillip Gregory Patterson. She loved life and her glowing personality, sense of humor and genuine caring nature could bring happiness and a smile to just about anyone she met. Patricias family would like to give a special thanks to the following special individuals in Gadsden: Dr. VJ Narayan MD, Steve and Karen Benson, David and Michelle Burgess, Ruby Adams and Louise Dodson, Southside Family Pharmacy, and to Josh and Dana Bohn, the caregivers to Snoozer, Patricias cherished kitty. The family would also like to recognize the following special Dallas area people: Arthur Condra, Josh Jones, Thomas Callahan and Verlon Love. The flight crew of Eagle Air Medflight and the outstanding care team at Kindred Hospital of Dallas, Texas also have the gratitude of Patricias family: James, AB, Bernard, J.J., Donna, Kathy, Bill, Octavia, Narinder, and the following ICU team members at Kindred: Deborah, Caroline, Cora, Tess, Manny, Keith, Kenneth, Cliff, Helen, Paul, Lizzy, Kimberly and many more. It was Patricias wishes that a small memorial be held in Gadsden, Alabama. The time and date for this service is still being considered.
