Obituary

Regina "Gina" Yarbrough Landry Our hearts are heavy yet comforted, to share that Gina Yarbrough Landry graduated to heaven on Sunday morning, May 28, 2023, a beautiful sunny morning filled with a breeze, grace and peace. Gina was born May 29, 1956, to Patsy and Robert Yarbrough in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, attending John W. Carpenter elementary school, T.W. Browne Jr. High where she loved being a member of the Troyann drill team and then attended and graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School. Each with two young teenage children, Gina and Jerry, having known each other since Jr. High School, reconnected and married in 1996 and have spent the last 27 years together with their cherished blended family. Grandchildren were icing on the cake of life for Gina! Gina and Jerry had so many fun adventures with so many special people in their lives, many of which were present in person, by phone and in spirit these last 6 months. She was the happiest lady in the world, cared for everyone, very independent, loved Dr. Pepper, a good laugh and as much family time as she could get. She loved to dance and was very good. Gina is survived by her loving husband Jerry; children Jesse Tallent; Sarah Tallent Wise, husband Matt, precious grandchildren Dylan and Madelyn; Josh Landry; Jenny Landry and fianc David Hernandez; brother Alan Yarbrough and wife Tina, niece Brooke Yarbrough-Beaster, husband Gerald and children; and nephew Blake Yarbrough. She is also survived by her Landry Brothers and Sisters-in Law, who each loved Gina from the day she joined the Landry Family: Jean Matern; Chris and Melinda Landry, David and Deb Landry, Teresa and Toby Young, John Landry and Karen Bewley, Sara and Bill Faris, 15 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews, plus a host of other loving extended family members and close friends. Gina is preceded in death by her dad Robert Yarbrough and her mother and best friend, Patsy Yarbrough-Collins. The world is a better place because of her. To know her was to love her. Her smile was infectious. When Gina smiled, you felt it and could not help but smile with her. She always showed impeccable kindness and grace to everyone, time spent with her was meaningful and special. Above all, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday July 1, 2023 in the beautiful chapel at T. Boone Pickens Faith Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 12477 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251. While we will all miss Gina, we rejoice that she is now healed and experiencing "fullness of joy" (Psalm 16:11) with His Lord and Risen Savior - and we look forward one day to the Great Reunion with him in Glory! Special thanks to Faith Presbyterian Hospice and their wonderful staff who cared for Gina and uplifted the family during Gina's grand stay. What a blessing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Faith Presbyterian Hospice and the T. Boone Pickens Center for Hospice Care, in memory of Gina Landry, online at www.faithpreshospice.org or mailed to 12477 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251; or to the charity of your choice.
