Robert Eugene
Woods
May 26, 1932 — Dec 1, 2024
Bob Woods, age 92, of Plano, Texas, died of a sudden illness on December 1, 2024.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Woods, Bob is survived by his wife and companion, Jo Ann.
Bob is also survived by his beloved son and "best buddy", Don Woods and wife Debbie, children Makena and Sydnee Woods, and stepchildren Tanza and Spencer Loudenback.
Surviving also is his adored daughter, Robin Bennison and husband Mike, children Max and Robbie Bennison, and two delightful nieces.
From his special stepfamily of 32 years with Jo Ann, Bob's cherished survivors are:
Son Mark Huddleston, widower of wife Donna
Daughter Lee Ann Gater and husband Rich, grand-daughters, Shelby Becker and husband David, Nikki Stuart and Bobby, great-grandchildren Avery and Connor Stuart.
Born May 26, 1932, in Peru, Indiana, Bob lived, in succession, in Missouri, California, and Texas. His friendly, positive personality led him to a successful career in sales. His company, Forging Specialties, represented many aerospace industries through the years.
Bob was generous, kind, considerate, and a lot of fun! Beyond his love for family and well-done salmon, he tremendously enjoyed football, never giving up on his Dallas Cowboys or USC Trojans. His last comfortable day was spent, watching the Cowboy's Thanksgiving-Day victory.
After his father's untimely death, Bob, as a 19-year-old college freshman, left school, and went to work, selling fire-brick to support his widowed mother and disabled brother, continuing until their deaths, years later. When complimented on such noble behavior, Bob light-heartedly would utter the comic phrase, "Whadda guy! Whadda guy!"
Looking back on Bob's life, we who loved him would agree that he really was "WHAT A GUY!"
Memorial Contributions are welcomed to the animal rescue organization, Operation Kindness, 3201 Earhart Dr., Carrollton, Texas, 75006. Aria of Dallas was chosen for cremation.
