Margaret Joan Robuck was born on August 6, 1935 in Sabinal, Texas to Gladys and John Roberts. She passed away on April 1, 2018 in Plano, Texas at the age of 82 years old. Joan grew up in Sabinal as an only child. She attended Sabinal High School, where she was voted "Most Attractive" and "Most Popular" by her peers. She also twirled a mean baton as a majorette and finally a drum major. Upon graduation, Joan attended Trinity University in San Antonio. It was there that she met John Cleveland Robuck, Jr., and the two married in 1953. The pair moved around a bit but finally settled down in Richardson, Texas. Joan was very involved with the Richardson Symphony Orchestra Guild, where she served as president from 1977-78, helping to raise funds to support the orchestra. She also was quite involved with the Richardson Women's Club. In later years, Joan worked in the aviation insurance industry until she retired in 2016. Joan loved to dance and was a wonderful piano player. She had a smile that made everyone just instantly like her. She traveled around the world and made a difference in people's lives in her own quiet way. She loved being a grandmother to her grandson, Justin Robuck. She doted on him and helped shape his life. She is preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Roberts, her father, John Roberts and former husband, John C. Robuck, Jr. Joan is survived by her sons, Kevin Robuck and Bob Robuck; grandson, Justin Robuck and other extended family and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Road, Plano, Texas 75075 followed by an interment at columbarium. A reception immediately following the service will be held at the home of Kevin Robuck and Anne Williamson, 4304 Creekstone Drive, Plano, TX 75093. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation in Joan Robuck's name to Christ United Methodist Church of Plano, her church home.
