Giacomo Joseph Romeo, 82, of McKinney, passed away May 24, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. A private service will be held for family and friends on June 6, 2015. Giacomo was born in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Lena Romeo on February 20, 1933. He served aboard the U.S.S. BORIE in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He went on to become a pipefitter for Chrysler Corp. and was an active member and steward of the UAW union. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1981 where he eventually worked at his favorite job as a horticulturist for Mirage Hotel and Casino. He retired in 2004, and moved to McKinney, Texas. Giacomo enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and watching basketball and NFL football as well as his beloved Michigan Wolverines. Giacomo is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lena; two sisters Rose and Dorothy; son Mark Storage Romeo. Giacomo is survived by his spouse Joanne(Crom) Romeo of McKinney; son Jack and wife Tina Romeo of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Sheila and husband Curtis Allison of Melissa, TX; grandchildren Jennifer, Tyler, Jeremy, Justin, Cody, and Brandon; Great-grandchildren Julian and Aaron; Sister Josie Anderson of Detroit, Michigan. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the great staff at Medical City Dallas for their support in his final days.
