Yolanda Garcia Romero, born in San Benito Texas on July 22, 1951, passed away on August 7, 2016. She is survived by husband, of 44 years, Sammy Romero; son, Samuel Romero, sisters, Grace Ochoa and Blancha Garcia; and brother Felipe Garcia III. God daughters, Yvette Rose and Zuri Garcia. Yolanda is the First Hispanic Woman to receive a PHD in History from a Texas University. She taught History at North Lake College for 26 years. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
