Ronald Joseph "Ron" Weisenberger, 78, passed away from complications related to multiple sclerosis in Coppell, Texas, on September 18, just over a week before his 79th birthday.

Born September 27, 1943, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Carl "Bud" and Leona (née Kinsey) Weisenberger, Ron grew up in Kenton, Ohio, and was the oldest of three siblings. He briefly attended Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University) in Pittsburgh before joining the United States Air Force (USAF). As an airman, he was sent to Yale University for an intensified Mandarin Chinese class, graduated at the top of his class, and even gave the commencement speech in Mandarin. During his time with the USAF, he reached the rank of sergeant and was primarily stationed in Taiwan.

Following his military service, he earned a bachelor of arts in political science from the Ohio State University, where he met his first wife, Carol (née Whiteside), in a Chinese class. He went on to attend law school at Duke University, where he graduated in 1973, and then worked for a number of years at a law firm in Athens, Ohio. In 1979, he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, then lived in Houston and Dallas before settling in Coppell, Texas, with his second wife, Patricia "Pat" (née Owens). In his time in the Metroplex, he served as district counsel for the U.S. Small Business Administration for nearly 30 years before retiring.

A quiet man who enjoyed reading, sudoku, and effortlessly solving the daily New York Times crossword puzzle, he could turn on the charm abruptly but was always witty, funny, and warm. Though he grew up as a Cleveland Browns fan due to his childhood home's proximity to Cleveland, he quickly saw the light upon moving to Dallas and became a Cowboys fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Leona and sister Karen (Roger Scott). He is survived by his wife Pat, son Geoff, daughter-in-law Lisa, grandchildren Kinsey and Austin, youngest sister Jane (Richard Allen), and first wife Carol.
