Obituary

Ronald Michael Smith passed away on November 21, 2025, surrounded by his beloved sisters.

Ronald honorably served his country for 22 years in the United States Navy and United States Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant in Special Forces. His service was marked by courage, discipline, and unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers and to the nation he proudly defended. The values he lived by – honor, loyalty and selfless service – defined both his military career and his life.

After retiring from the Army, Ronald earned an associate-degree in sheet metal design. He embraced life with curiosity and passion, finding joy in photography, camping, riding his Harley, attending military museums, panning for gold, and his love of music and watching movies. These interests reflected both his adventurous spirit and his deep respect for history and service.

Above all, Ronald cherished time spent with his family. He was a generous, kind-hearted and giving man who was always willing to help anyone in need. His strength was matched by his compassion, and his presence brought comfort, love and reassurance to those around him.

Ronald is survived by his sisters; Barbara J Kurlan, Linda S Driver, Brenda L Lovitt, Teresa F Smith, brother-n-law Leroy Lovitt, sister-n-law Sharon Smith, nephews Greg Smith, wife Marcee Scott Smith, Randy Smith, John Oster, wife Tanya, nieces Jennifer Lovitt, Stephanie King, Shauna Voigt, husband Jamie, grand nieces and nephews; Ashlyn, Lucas Voigt, Christoper King and wife Carolyn Smith.

Ronald will be remembered with profound respect, and gratitude for a life lived with honor, integrity, and a devotion to his Country and family. His legacy of service and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
