Janice V. Rooney, age 89, passed away on July 23, 2014. Janice was preceeded in death by her husband, John Rooney. Mr. and Mrs. Rooney raised 4 sons. She has 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Janice grew up in Cleveland Ohio, married after World War II and, as a Navy wife, moved to various locations over the next twenty years. Janice later settled in Maryland and lived there for many years. While she thought of herself as a Marylander, Janice spent the last ten years in Texas with her son Michael and daughter-in-law Rebecca. She became fond of Texas and developed an interest in Texas history. Janice spent the last two years enjoying Texas living with her loving companion, Floyd Baty. Janice was outgoing and had many new friends in Texas as well as maintaining her long friendships from Maryland. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
