Obituary

Rose Marie Madrid passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 18, 2024. She was born to Virginia Sanchez on April 30, 1948, in Guadalajara, Mexico, and enjoyed a loving childhood with her sister, Veila Unzueta; brother, Ricardo Lopez, Jr.; and father, Ricardo Lopez, Sr.

On July 8, 1967, Rose married the love of her life, Augustine "Tino" Madrid, Sr., in Los Angeles, California. They soon started a family with the birth of their daughter, Dianna, and later their first son, Augustine Jr. In 1975, Tino's career moved the young family to Richardson, Texas, and over time welcomed two more sons, Gabriel and David. Rose was an amazing mother, always taking time to uniquely connect with each of her children.

Rose was a remarkable woman who accomplished anything she set her mind to. She held various positions throughout her life, including office management, administration, teaching, medical billing, real estate, and entrepreneurship. She worked hard and excelled time after time.

In addition to her professional success, Rose's true passion was caring for her family. She was a wonderful, loving mom, a great wife, and an adored grandmother. A truly selfless person, she always put the needs and wishes of her family and friends first.

Her family revered her for her outstanding examples of kindness, compassion, business sense, and work ethic.

Rose Marie Madrid was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Augustine; sister, Velia Unzueta; brother, Ricardo Lopez, Jr.; and mother, Virginia Sanchez.

She is survived by her father, Ricardo Lopez, Sr., daughter, Dianna Lacy Aaron, and husband, Barry; son, Augustine Madrid, and wife, Michell; son, Gabriel Madrid, and wife, Bethany; and son, David Madrid, and wife, April.

She leaves behind eight loving grandchildren, Jenny O'Neal and husband Patrick, Jessica Lacy, Amanda Montgomery and husband James, James Lacy, Cari Madrid, Jordan Madrid, Brandon Madrid, Harper Madrid; and four great-grandchildren, Roric, Liam, and Gideon O'Neal, and Kai Lacy Martinez, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Chapala, Mexico, Los Angeles, California, and around the world.
