Obituary

Roxana Salazar, age 55, passed away peacefully December 26, 2022 due to Stage 4 Cancer. She was born May 20, 1967, in Lamesa Texas to Janie Chapa. She followed her heart and Nick Salazar in July of 1990. Roxana loved people and loved staying busy. She was always cooking something new, creating new recipes of Chinese, Pizza, Salmon, desserts, and so many other entrees. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren. She was first to always spoil her babies as she called them. she protected them dearly as well. She made friends easily and everywhere she worked. Roxana was career minded thus, she worked for companies who best fit her interest from working with high school kids at Coleman High School in Midland Texas or part-time retail at J C Penny to accounting & billing specialist in North Dallas. Roxana loved to listen to 1980's music. Some of her favorite artist included: Fleetwood Mac, Peter Cetera, to mention a few. However, her all-time favorite artists were George Strait and Neil Diamond. Roxana and Nick would often attend many concerts and enjoy long road trips to attend music concerts. They shared a lifetime of storytelling to their family and friends of their adventures. Roxana and Nick built their families foundation on love, family, and faith. She was strong in her Christian faith and strived to have her children and grandchildren grow in their faith as well. Through her faith she always lifted her family in prayer for strength, healing, and safety. It was this strong faith that carried her through the hardship of the cancer in her body and the knowledge that the cancer could not be cured. Roxana did not show any fear of death, she knew in her heart of the blessings that would come to her and her family as her time here, was getting close. Roxana was very strong during her battle with cancer, she had a lot of good memorable days with family members as they came to visit with her and share memories. Whether it was family or friends reaching out to her via social media, it always brought a smile to her face. She enjoyed her family and her friends. Her son and daughters supported and cared for her during this crucial time. Roxana passed away peacefully the day after Christmas with her family at her bedside.
