Ruth Clemson Woods Lett passed away peacefully on June 9, 2022 at the age of 83 with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband Sam G. Lett, Jr.; four sons, Sam G. Lett (Karen) of Colleyville; Texas; Robert W. Lett (Laura) of Park Cities, Texas; Benjamin T. Lett (Beaumont) of Houston, Texas; and William C. Lett of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren (a 4th due in August); and a sister, Becky Woodson (Chuck) of Covington, Virginia; and nephews, Robert C. Woodson ( Stephanie) of Roanoke, Virginia; and, Jamie V. Woodson, MD of Charlotte, North Carolina. Ruth was born on January 6, 1939 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Ruth Bernard Woods and Robert Clemson Woods of Covington, Virginia. Ruth graduated in 1956 from Covington High School and is a 1960 graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. In 1960 Ruth moved to Dallas to work for American Airlines as a flight attendant. Ruth met and married Sam Lett Jr. in 1961 and lived her entire adult life in Dallas, Texas. Ruth was very active in the Good Shepard Episcopal Church in Dallas serving on Alter Guild for over 50 years. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all. She loved to garden, spending countless hours in her yard and greenhouse and collecting early American antiques. Ruth and Sam enjoyed spending weekends at Lake Texoma with their children and grandchildren.

10am on Saturday July 9, 2022.
