Sandra
Knowlton Curci
Aug 9, 1948 — May 7, 2024
Sandra Knowlton Curci grew up in Lubbock, Texas with her parents, Rex and Peggy, older sister, Jeannie and 2 younger brothers, David and Jerry. Sandra graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas and then went on to earn her bachelor's degree at Texas Tech University. Fun fact: Sandra and Jeanie had shared a bedroom and had only spent a few nights apart until they both went to college. After graduating college, Sandra had a daughter, Stephanie, with her first husband. They moved to New Jersey and Sandra spent the next 16 years there. She was one of the first female executives for Norelco Phillips in the 1970's. Sandra spent her time raising her daughter, working, golfing and entertaining friends. Upon returning to Texas, Sandra learned how to sail and started a new life for herself. She was happy to be back in the Lonestar State. Fun Fact: Sandra was the president of the ladies golf association in Plainsboro, NJ. Sandra was hired by Dr.Pepper/Cadbury Schweppes and lived in England for about a year. During this time, she traveled throughout Europe with John Curci. She and John extended their travels to the Caribbean and Mexico. Sandy was super organized, loved to cook, was a diligent daily reader of the bible and enjoyed spending time with her family- especially her grandsons Cade and Bryce. She had a quick sense of humor and liked to have fun. She was planner and made lots of lists and deadlines to accomplish all of her tasks- she was very driven! Sandra and John Curci were married shortly before her passing.
A couple of fun memories: the time my mom brought me to her yoga class when I was about 8 years old. I was the only kid there! Another memory was when my mom packed me a chicken fried steak sandwich for a school lunch and the other kids were staring at it- they had never seen chicken fried steak sandwich before! You can take the girl out of Texas but you can't take Texas out of the girl. I also have a great memory of my mom sewing- she was so creative! She loved to decorate. Fun Fact- as a teenager my mom knew how to water ski even though she couldn't swim.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Peggy; her two brothers, David and Jerry; her nephews Jon Mark and Daniel; her nieces Naomi and Hannah and her adorable and much loved dog, Shadow. Sandra leaves behind her husband, John Curci; daughter, Stephanie Rowland; grandsons Cade and Bryce Rowland; sister and brother in law, Jeannie and Johnny Paden; and various nephews and nieces.
This brave woman fought the good fight against cancer. Sandra will be missed. She touched many lives and was loved very much.
