Gay passed away on December 31, 2017 in Plano, TX. She was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on June 10, 1938, to Minnie and George Marshall. Gay graduated from Washington High School in 1956. She attended the University of South Dakota and was affiliated with Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was Miss South Dakota and a contestant in Miss Universe in 1957, where she was voted Miss Congeniality. Gay married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Schleicher, on June 14, 1958. She and Jerry have two sons, Troy and Shon, two very special daughters' in law, Angie and Lisa; 6 grandchildren: Meredith, Andrew, Rachel, Audrey, Noah, and Elijah and one great-granddaughter, Kai Brai. Gay was an active member of Church of the Holy Communion, a 40-year member of Canyon Creek Country Club, and the Texas Senior Women's Golf Association. She was an avid bridge player and a life master in the American Contract Bridge League. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Methodist Richardson Cancer Center.
