Obituary

Sheri Finkelstein passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

She was born on September 14, 1973.

Sheri was a tireless volunteer, most recently at Medical City, Dallas, but also at Jewish Family Services of Dallas. Sheri also worked at Akiba Academy of Dallas for several years.

Sheri is survived by her fiancée, Steve Coben, the love of her life, and their gentle giant dog, Hazel. She is also survived by her parents, Cheryl Raffkind and Randy Finkelstein of Dallas, and brother, Craig Finkelstein and wife Jennifer Starkey of Austin. Sheri loved her nieces, Loki and Marley, who live in New York. She is also survived by aunts and uncles: Joy and Peter Kosley of Dallas, Glenna Raffkind of Amarillo, George Raffkind and wife Alicia of Amarillo, and Eliot Raffkind and wife Julie of Dallas.

Sheri had A LOT of cousins from all over the USA and Canada. She loved all of them so much, and we know the feeling was mutual. Sheri had many very close friends that she communicated with often. Randy, Craig, Steve and I are so honored that so many family and friends reached out to us.

We had a wonderful Raffkind Family Reunion this past Thanksgiving, and we are grateful that Sheri, Steve and Hazel were there. Sheri was smiling and laughing, of course.

We will miss her beautiful, always smiling face. Sheri's memory is a blessing.

Contributions may be made in Sheri's name to The Epilepsy Foundation or Jewish Family Services of Dallas or the charity of your choice.
