Obituary

Shir Lee Boggs was born in a farmhouse outside Filley, Nebraska on December 7, 1928, to Edgar David Boggs and Ruby Camille Boggs.

She lived a long, fruitful life dedicated to helping and teaching countless people. Shir Lee married Ronald Robert McCormick. She reared three children: Brian Ron McCormick, Kelly Bradford McCormick and Melinda Lee McCormick Moseley Nolasco. Melinda married Wayne Moseley and gave Shir Lee her only grandchild, Blayne Elliott Moseley. Blayne later married Mirthis, and they have two children. Shir Lee's beloved great-grandchildren Elliott Moseley and Ian Poppe.

Shir Lee married Charles Stallard in 1966 becoming the mother of eight school aged children, Charlie, Randy, Gary, David, Mary Jo along with Brian, Kelly and Melinda.

She began her education at Fremont High School and Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska, and later earned her graduate degree in English Literature, Drama and Speech from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

A lifelong educator, Shir Lee dedicated her career to teaching both children and adults. She taught at numerous institutions, including Southern Methodist University, Richland College, Collin County College, Amberton University, East Texas State, the University of Alaska, the University of Chicago, The Hockaday School, as well as within the Dallas, Richardson, and Carrollton Independant School Districts.

Passionate and tireless in her work, Shir Lee was known for her boundless energy, always the first to rise and the last to rest, continually striving to uplift and educate those around her. She enjoyed celebrating every holiday and made everyone feel special. She enjoyed playing the flute and piccolo in college and in the Richardson Community Band. She loved dogs, especially her chihuahua's named Tootsie, Cindy, Taco and Cricket. Shir Lee was a lifelong Christian and active in the Presbyterian Church.

On August 26, 2025, Shir Lee left this earth and is now with Jesus.
