Ted Duane Shobe, aged 70, passed away at his home in Richardson, Tx on July 29, 2018 surrounded by his family following a year-long struggle with prostate cancer. He was born July 28, 1948 in Alton, Illinois to Ernest and Eileen Shobe and big brother, Jerry. Ted grew up in Alton attending grade school through high school. He was a gifted student and athlete, lettering in football and track. Ted graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in psychology and mathematics. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and later earned a M.Ed. from Memphis State University in guidance and counseling. Ted's lifelong career path was spent in education. In his early career, he was employed by Bowling Green University, Bemidji State University, the University of Minnesota, and finally at Trinity University. The remainder of his employment involved positions in alternative, public, and private school education as a teacher, coach, principal, and administrator. Ted is survived by his wife Teresa, daughter Emma, son Justin Corwin, brother Jerry (wife Diana), nephews Brian (wife Marie) and Jason (wife Tammy), niece Sarah, and his beloved cat Milo. Ted was a member of First United Methodist Church of Richardson. A Celebration of Teds life will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M., on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the family home located at 509 S. Lois Lane, Richardson, Texas 75081.
