Bertie Alice Smith was born in Corrigan, Texas to Aubry and Allie Lovett. She grew up in Redland and Lake Jackson, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Mathis Smith, her loving children Andy, Tina, and David, and has been reunited in heaven with her son, who preceded her in death, Matt James Smith. She is also survived by her granddaughter Lara Huddleston, daughter-in-law Susanne Geis, and sons-in-law Doug Huddleston and Jeff Reding. Funeral services will be held on January 31 2015 at the 8thStreet Baptist Church in Grand Prairie Texas; viewing at 10am and funeral service at 11am. A small graveside service will held the following day, February 1st at 1pm at the Oatmeal Cemetery located just south of Bertram, Texas.
