Sonja Dee Petersen, 80 died at Medical City Hospital Plano, Texas on Saturday May 6, 2023. She was surrounded by her three daughters and two granddaughters. Sonja was born January 24, 1943, on the family farm in rural Kellogg, Minnesota. She was the second born and only daughter of Rose and Millard Petersen who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother Russell Petersen of Kellogg Minnesota and her grandson, Nicholas Lee Stone. She lived in Lewisville, Texas and loved nature and walking. She held a variety of jobs in the retail industry including a lingerie shop in California. She enjoyed being around and helping people. She retired from Kroger in 2013. Sonja loved to decorate and was very creative. She loved sketching, painting, and had the best organizational skills of anyone. She is survived by her two brothers Richard Petersen, who resides in Kellogg, Minnesota and Wayne Petersen in Omaha, Nebraska. She is survived by her three loving daughters: Christine, married to Rick Stone of Irving Texas, Carla Cleeton of Garland Texas, and Cindy Proctor of Joshua Texas. She had four grandchildren Bradley, who is married to Chloe (Norred) Stone, Trey Stone, Katie Stone, and Melanie Proctor. She had one great grandchild, named Grayson Avery Stone born to Bradley and Chloe Stone. In lieu of flowers please send donations to her favorite charity St. Jude's Hospital in her honor.
