Service for Norman N. Sparks, 83, of Boyd, Texas will be Wednesday, June 28, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas, where the burial will take place at 1:00. A visitation will be the same day at Aria Cremation Service & Funeral Homes in Irving, Texas from 10:30 - 11:30. Norman died Thursday, June 23, 2017 in Boyd, Texas. He was born in Friars Point, Mississippi on March 24, 1934. He married Linda Louise Sparks on November 2, 1981. Norman was proud to serve our country in the Navy, and then as a police officer in Long Beach, California. He attended Long Beach City College and retired from the Internal Revenue Service. He loved his family, enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, and had a love for animals; especially his standard poodle, Beauson, III. Many people called him "Sparkie". His family is blessed that he was at peace with his Lord and Savior at the time of death. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Linda Louise Sparks; three daughters, Brenda Sparks Minix and her husband Tim D. Minix; Marie Garza, and Tammy Lynn Shank; three grandchildren, Troy A. Minix, Amy N. Minix, and Ryan T. Thompson; and one sister, Kay Sparks Littrell. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearlie Mae Knight Hudson; his father, Vernon Sparks; and two sisters, Dorothy (Dotty) Hancock and Betty Sparks Warbritton. He was a Mason.
