Ruth Ann Spears, of Dallas, Texas, passed away July 17, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Ruth was born on January 4, 1930 to the late Stephen Jefferson Spears and Bennie Ruth Sells Spears in Pampa, Texas. She graduated from Arlington High School and went on to complete her associates degree at Arlington State College; now known as The University of Texas at Arlington. Ruth was an involved member & past president of The Desk and Derrick Club which was the first organization for professional women in the oil and gas industry. She was a Christian, organist, and enjoyed traveling. Ruth will be remembered as a sweet, friendly soul. Ruth Ann Spears is preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings; Sara Iona Mays and Stephen Glen Spears. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; David Glen Mays, Randall Lee Mays, Julie Ann Adams, and Stephen Jeffrey Spears as well as extended family and friends. A committal service will be held by the family at a later date.
