Steven Ray Maxwell

Steven Ray Maxwell, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2026.

Born on May 31, 1956, in Lubbock, Texas, Steve built a life defined by dedication, integrity, and love for those around him. He made his home in Frisco, Texas, and devoted more than 50 years to a distinguished career in the claims industry before retiring in January 2026.

Steve found great joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid golfer, traveler, and huge Texas Tech sports fan, he cherished every opportunity to create memories with family and friends. Known for his selfless spirit, gentle nature, and unwavering kindness, Steve touched countless lives and was deeply loved by all who knew him.

Steve is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife, Debbie Maxwell; his sons, Joshua Craft and wife Brittany and Jacob Craft and wife Avry; his sister, Cynthia Williams; his brother, Todd Maxwell; and his beloved grandchildren, Hannah Craft, Noah Craft, and Jackson Craft. He is also survived by his parents-in-law, Tom and Dessa Hall; his nephew, Justin Williams; nieces, Mallory Bounds, Shelby Hemphill, and Avery Maxwell; one great-nephew, three great-nieces; and many cherished extended family members and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Leona and Rayburn Maxwell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at First McKinney Baptist Church, 1615 W. Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that held special meaning to Steve and his family.

Steve's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
