Steven Wayne Spross, 47, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Steven was born on August 28, 1978, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from the University of North Texas and spent many years working in the mortgage industry, where he built lasting relationships with colleagues and clients.
Known to many as "Scuba", Steven had a larger-than-life personality and a gift for making people laugh. He enjoyed golfing, watching basketball, and spending time with friends and family. Whether sharing stories, offering a helping hand, or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, Steven had a way of making every gathering memorable.
Of all the roles he held in life, being a father was the one he treasured most. His daughter, Sarah, was the light of his life and his greatest source of pride and joy. The love he had for her was evident in everything he did.
Steven is survived by his daughter, Sarah Spross; his father Gary Wayne Spross and wife, Lyn; his mother Vanessa Pardue Reeves and husband, George; his sister Melissa Wendt and husband, Tim; his stepbrother Matthew Miller and wife, Melissa; his stepsister Stephanie Brown and husband, Steve; and his nieces and nephews, Ty Wendt, Mckinley Miller, Maxwell Miller and Maverick Miller.
Steven will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, loyal friendships, and the love he had for his family and friends. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, those who knew and loved him will carry his memory with them always.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Dallas Athletic Club. 4111 Dallas Athletic Club Dr, Dallas, TX 75228.
In honoring Steven's life, we remember a loving father, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. While we wish we had more time with him, we are grateful for the laughter, love and memories he leaves behind. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
