Obituary

Joseph Alexander Stevenson, age 82, of Plano, TX died on Dec. 2nd 2014. Joseph was born in Camden, New Jersey on Feb. 1st 1932 to the late Joseph R. Stevenson and Ruth Hackenberger Stevenson. He graduated from Haddon Heights High School in New Jersey class of '49, Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania class of '53, and received his MBA from Pennsylvania's Temple University class of '59. He served our nation during the Korean War in the United States Air Force from September of 1953 until he was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant in September 1955. He earned the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal during his time in the Air Force. Joseph hadlived in Haddon Heights, NJ, Haddon Township, NJ, Austin, TX and Plano, TX. He was employed as a business manager at Smith-Kline & French Laboratories in Philadelphia. Joseph enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, tinkering, spending time with his wife and enjoying his family. Joseph Alexander Stevenson is preceded in death by his first wife, Leona Stoudt Stevenson, who died January 27th 1991. He is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, JoAnn Unger Stevenson, his children, Joseph Scott Stevenson (Debbie) and Lauren Stevenson Yacina (John), his stepchildren, Susan Unger Meints (Jeff) and Ellen Unger Keszler, his grandchildren, J. Justin Stevenson, Sean Stevenson, Alexandra Yacina, Emily Yacina, Daniel Keszler, Andrew Keszler and Tyler Meints, his sister, Patricia Stevenson, as well as extended family and friends. Joseph will be greatly missed by all. A small memorial service will be held by close family and friends in Plano, Texas.
