Susan Marie Ziemer Jacobs, 81, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, in Dallas,

Texas. She was born on August 4, 1944, in Victorville, California, and spent her

childhood in Barstow, California.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, James Jacobs; her

parents, Kenneth and Winifred Ziemer; and her brothers, James and Michael Ziemer.

She is survived by her children, Melanie (Jacobs) Frisbee, Brian Jacobs, and Elena Jacobs; eight

grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many beloved members of her extended family.

Susan retired from the Army Ammunition Plant in McAlester, Oklahoma, after many

years of dedicated service. She was a longtime resident of Krebs, Oklahoma, where

she was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

An avid reader with a particular love for mystery novels, Susan was rarely without a

good book nearby. She delighted in caring for her many houseplants, adored cats, and

never passed up an opportunity to go out for a good meal with family. Her sharp wit,

equally sharp tongue, and wonderful sense of humor kept those around her laughing.

For many years, family members could count on receiving her daily text message

featuring the “joke of the day,” a tradition that brought smiles across generations.

During the final 19 months of her life, Susan made her home in Dallas with her

daughter. She embraced the adventure of city life and found joy in once again being

surrounded by the energy and laughter of teenagers in the home. Those months were

filled with shared meals, conversations, family, and the simple pleasures of everyday

life.

Susan will be remembered for her intelligence, her resilience, her humor, and the love

she had for her family. She leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring

comfort and laughter to all who knew her.

A memorial mass will be held on November 23 at 10am at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Krebs, Oklahoma.
