Eleanor Adele Zeigler Swindal: Daughter, Sister, Mother, "La La", and Friend. Eleanor was Strong, Brave, Selfless, Caring, Gracious, and wholly dedicated to her family, and friends. Mom never met a stranger, and she helped everyone she knew as well as those she didn't know. We have many wonderful memories of her. She loved us all unconditionally, and just as she loved us, she loved life and lived it to the fullest. Mom was always fixing or taking something or someone somewhere; not because she had to, but because she wanted to. She did more than was ever asked of her, and often times cared more about us than we cared about ourselves.
It is good for all of us to remember who she was, how she loved and what she believed. Our honor is to keep her spirit alive by continuing her good works and by loving everyone the way God loves, the way she loved. We are truly blessed to have known her, and we can be thankful that she was part of our lives. We already miss her tremendously.
Mom was welcomed into heaven by her Mama in time to celebrate her son"Bubba's" Birthday with him and all her loved ones who have gone before.
A native Texan, Eleanor was born to Pete and Blanche Zeigler on April 30, 1932 in Rock Island, Texas, as the youngest of nine children, and is survived by two loving sisters Edith and Lillian, and her daughter Lori as well as a host of devoted friends and family. As a faithful employee, she retired from Southwestern Bell following 32 years of service. After a difficult two year struggle with Ovarian Cancer, Eleanor passed from this life gently and quietly on October 10, 2014 surrounded by her precious, loving family.
