In Memory of

Talmadge Wayne Tinsley

November17,1941 - May 29, 2026

Talmadge Tinsley lived a life defined by love, family, vision, and an enduring sense of adventure. A respected North Texas land developer, homebuilder, and entrepreneur. He built more than homes and communities throughout his lifetime - he built a legacy grounded in faith, family, hard work, curiosity, and generosity.

While his professional accomplishments were significant, Talmadge would tell you that his greatest achievement was his family, The love of his life was his wife, Bonnie, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage, partnership, and adventure. Together, they created a blended family rooted in love and devotion. Their family began with Talmadges's daughter, Tammy, and Bonnie's children, Barry and Ashley. Together they welcomed two more children, Tara and Tyler, creating a close-knit family that remained the center of Talmadge's world.

As the family grew, so did his joy. He was a proud father, grandfather to eleven grandchildren, and great grandfather to two great grandchildren. He treasured family gatherings, celebrations, and holidays, especially the ones spent at the Tinsley family farm in Marlin, Texas.

Professionally, Talmadge earned the respect of colleagues and friends through decades of success in land development and homebuilding across North Texas. The Preston Road areas of North Dallas, Plano, Frisco, and Prosper are dotted with Tinsley Communities such as Prestonwood West, The Villages of Willowbend, Gleneagles Country Club, Gentle Creek Estates, Gentle Creek Place and many more. Other areas of development include Arlington, Farmers Branch, Murphy, Garland, Houston, and Van Alstyne. During his career, Talmadge developed in excess of 6,000 acres into planned communities and custom homes. His reputation was built on integrity, determination, and commitment to excellence.

Beyond his work and family, Talmadge embraced life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for friendship. He and Bonnie shared a passion for travel and created treasured memories exploring Europe, South America, Istanbul, Beijing, and many other destinations together. He delighted in experiencing different cultures, meeting new people, and collecting stories from his travels that he loved to share with family and friends.

Talmadge also treasured his membership at Preston Trail Golf Club, where he spent countless enjoyable hours with friends. The club became a second home and a place where many lifelong friendships were formed. Whether on the golf course, around a backgammon board, or engaged in a spirited game of gin rummy, he relished both the competition and the camaraderie. Some of his happiest moments were spent laughing with friends, sharing stories, and enjoying the fellowship that enriched his life for many years.

Those who new Talmadge remember a man whose presence filled a room. He was generous with his time, loyal to his friends and family, and always quick to lend a helping hand. He possessed a quick wit, a warm smile, and a gift for making people feel welcome. Treating people fairly and honoring his commitments was what he lived by and he set a great example to his children encouraging them to make the most of every opportunity life offered.

Talmadge's legacy lives on in the communities he helped build, the friendships he cultivated, and most importantly, the family he loved so deeply. His was a life well lived, a legacy well-earned and a love that will continue to inspire future generations.

Talmadge is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie, and his children: Barry, Ashley, Tara, and Tyler. Grandchildren: Kristin, Dillon, Kalee, Keaton, Kross, Ethan, Savannah, Bonnie Kate, Emma, twins JT and PJ, his sister, Kathy Wilson, nephews Chris Wilson, Brandon Wilson, his niece, Deborah Humphreys, nephews Scott Tinsley and Jeffrey Tinsley.

Family members preceding him in heaven are his parents John and Mildred Tinsley, his brother, David Tinsley and his daughter, Tammy Marie Tinsley.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:1-3
