Melvin Taplin was born in Boston Massachusetts on June 27th in 1929. He grew up in Boston with his 4 siblings Sam, Betty, Saul, and Bob. He graduated from technical college and worked as a government spec writer and also served in the Army as an MP. He was also a bridge instructor and a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. Melvin loved people and his precious dog Kiki. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Annie Taplin. He is survived by his wife, Carole; their children David (Susan) Taplin, Iris Taplin and Sheryl Safford; beloved grandchildren Barry (Savannah) Taplin, Jason (Dani) Taplin and great grandchildren Gavin and Levi Taplin. Services will be held at DFW National Cemetery on April 18th, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Jewish National Fund or Cancer Society.
