Maurita Fay Taylor, 79, passed away October 24, 2016 with her loving family by her side. During her college days, a classmate nicknamed her "Marty" and it stuck. It was while she was in college that she met the love of her life, Loy C. Taylor, a fellow student. They were married sixty days shy of sixty years. They had two daughters, Alisa and Stacy. She was born in Mayfield, Oklahoma to Elmer and Grace Prock. They later moved to Pampa, Texas where she attended high school. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a teaching degree and later received a Master's Degree in Counseling, and educated students for over forty years. Marty was a member of Hope Fellowship Church in Frisco, Texas. She had a deep, abiding faith in God and her positive attitude was an inspiration to all who knew her. She fought a valiant battle with cancer, never complaining, never losing her sense of humor, and never losing that positive outlook. She was a caring and well-loved teacher and guidance counselor at Plano East Senior High School for twenty years before retiring from Plano ISD and dedicating the rest of her life to educating and helping others. She volunteered tirelessly with the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation, and she supported City House in Plano for twenty-nine years. That support continued throughout her retirement. She enjoyed planting and tending her flower garden. Marty was energetic, quick-witted, loved by all who knew her, and will be forever in our hearts. Marty is survived by her husband Loy, and children, Alisa Kimbrell, her husband Brian Kimbrell, Stacy Taylor and her Fiancee Bobby Williams, as well as her sisters Wilma Hogan and Bonnie Woestendiek. Her family was her greatest joy. A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 5th at 2:00 p.m. at 3R's Ranch, 1695 Coit Road in Prosper, Texas.
