Thomas "Greg"
Gregory
Sep 19, 1946 — Jun 6, 2025
Thomas "Greg" Gregory
Thomas Servelle Gregory, 78 years old, of Fort Worth, Texas died on June 6, 2025. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi in 1946 to the late Thomas Jefferson Gregory and Virginia Herdalene (Crane) Gregory. Services are pending at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Greg was a force to be reckoned with—stubborn as the day is long, fiercely opinionated, and unapologetically hard-headed. You always knew where you stood with him, and you could count on his honesty, peppered with some colorful language.
A proud patriot, Greg loved his country deeply and never hesitated to voice what he believed was right. Whether in a lively debate around the kitchen table or a quiet moment of reflection, his convictions ran deep.
And while his strong will was one of his defining traits, those who truly knew him also knew there was another side — a quiet softness that emerged later in life when he became a grandfather. The tough exterior softened. He found a new audience for his many stories and jokes. In their eyes, he was larger than life — and in his, they were his greatest pride.
In the later chapter of his life, Greg experienced a quiet but profound return to faith. He turned back to God—finding peace, redemption, and a renewed hope in grace. It was a journey that softened his edges, brought him comfort, and reminded all who knew him that even the strongest hearts can be transformed.
Greg grew up in Louise, Mississippi and graduated high school in 1964. In 1966, he served 13 years between the Mississippi National Guard and United States Air Force, with one tour in Vietnam. During his service he achieved the rank of Staff Sargeant as a crew chief on F-4 Phantoms and other aircraft.
While stationed in Big Spring, Texas, he met the love of his life, Brenda Bradbury. They were married on June 21, 1968. After his military service, Greg became a truck driver. He drove for 35 years, crisscrossing the United States many times, but most of his work was in Texas, hauling oil and gas products around his beloved adopted state.
In his retirement, Greg enjoyed remote controlled model aircraft building, genealogy, spending time with other retired friends, and hanging out with his wife and family on the front porch throwing tennis balls to his beloved dog, Fred.
Greg is survived by Brenda, his wife of 57 years, his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Eric Grimm of Aledo, Texas, his son, Jeff Gregory of Lewisville, Texas, his grandchildren Ben Grimm of Fort Worth, Madeline Grimm and Jack Grimm of Aledo, sisters Barbara Kay Jackson of Gautier, Mississippi and JoAnn Hunt of Florence, Mississippi, brother Douglas Gregory of Louise, Mississippi, sister-in-law Julie Smith of Big Spring, Texas, brother-in-law Alan Bradbury of Big Spring, Texas, and nieces, many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Wanda Ables of Louise, MS.
