Obituary

Thomas Martin Perry, affectionately known as Tom, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on March 31, 1941, in Middletown, Connecticut, Tom grew up with humble roots and built a life defined by family, kindness, and a famous sense of humor.

Tom was a devoted husband to his late wife of 61 years, Karen, and a cherished father to Amy, Matt, and Zack. He always put family first, offering support and love with a selfless heart. His infectious sense of humor brightened every room, and he never missed an opportunity to share a kind word or gracious gesture.

Tom worked for 25 years at Southern New England Telephone, a job he enjoyed until he retired early to focus on his family. An avid gardener, he found joy in tending his flowers and vegetables. He had other hobbies including woodworking and reading. He devoured books on the Civil War and explored many other interests.

Tom cherished life's simple pleasures: baking bread, enjoying a cold beer, a great book, trying new recipes, scenic car rides and bingo with Karen. He treasured family trips to Vermont and Key West, Florida, but seemed most content at home. After Karen's retirement, they moved to Holly Hill, Florida, where Tom embraced the warm weather and bid farewell to Connecticut winters. Following Karen's passing, he relocated to Texas to be closer to his grandchildren.

Tom is predeceased by his beloved wife Karen. He is survived by his daughter Amy (Clarke), and his sons Matt and Zack (Amy) along with his four grandchildren, Kristin, Eli, Tommy and Charlie.
