Obituary

Thomas Russell Stewart, 76, of Plano, Texas passed away suddenly on June 30, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Tyler, Texas on December 16, 1947.

Thom was an award-winning architect, co-owner, and founder of Stewart Partnership, Inc. Founded in 1977, Stewart Partnership, Inc. was responsible for the design of over twenty-six hundred residences and small commercial projects throughout the metroplex. His designs span five decades of rapid area growth, where he designed for some of the largest building firms in the area.

One of Thom's great passions was running. He ran daily on the Chisholm Trail in Plano. Over a 9-year period he competed in 3 full and 13 half marathons before "retiring" due to a knee injury. Thom and his wife Gwen enjoyed working together gardening, small carpentry projects as well as other artistic projects such as painting designs on small chairs for each of their grandchildren. Thom's most recent hobby was painting portraits of family members.

Thom is proceeded in death by his father, Charles Curtright Stewart and mother, Charlene Elizabeth Griffin Stewart.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years Gwendolyne Cover Stewart, daughter Stephanie Williams and husband Rob, son Thomas Stewart and wife Brandi, seven grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
