Obituary

Michael Wayne Thomas, born September 14, 1945 in Dallas, TX left us all too soon on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. He was 70 years young. Michael leaves behind his loving wife, Pam Thomas, his brothers Jack Thomas of Grapevine, TX and Richard Thomas of Red Oak, TX, their wives, Aunt Cathy Thomas of Carrollton, TX, Aunt Nellie Avin of Florence, SC, Uncle Joe Ed Avin of Summerton, SC as well as his many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Avin, father, Jack Thomas Sr., brother, Jerry Thomas, and his beloved 4 legged kids, Charmin, Dusty and Sundance. Proud to be a native Texan, Michael grew up in Kleburg and Wilmer, TX while also spending time on The Hill in Florence, South Carolina. Michael served his country proudly in the Vietnam War, 1966-67, 25th Infantry Division, Tropic Lightning. He returned to Dallas and began a career in the Mailing Industry, working his way from machine operator to the successful owner of his own Mailing Company. He was a loving husband, loving son and brother, proud American and true Conservative. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22nd from 7-9pm at Aria Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75252 followed by Graveside Services on Wednesday, March 23rd, 11am (sharp.this is the military, folks!) at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211 (off Spur 408). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Disabled American Veterans. Michael was many things to many people . . . he was The General . . . he was looked up to . . . Loved by all who knew him . . . Loyal friend . . . Favorite Uncle . . . mind like a steel trap, remembered everything! . . . Miller Lite drinker extraordinaire . . . El Jeffe . . . the Big Cheese. . . He loved him some Weazy. . . we truly lost our Hero, may he rest in peace. . . Elvis has left the building . . . Toodles!!
