Obituary

Born in Brooklyn, New York on August 26, 1927, Wallace Albert Thungstrom passed away on July 8, 2014 at Belmont at Twin Creeks Nursing Home in Allen, Texas. A proud patriot, he served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS William M. Wood in 1945 thru 1946. Following his service to our Country, he was employed by American Airlines for 35 years until his retirement in 1988. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jo Thungstrom, son Eric Thungstrom and his wife Beverly Thungstrom, daughter Laura Roddy and her husband George Roddy, daughter Mary Boyd and her husband Jim Boyd, grandchildren Taylor West, Curtis Roddy, and Claire Hemstreet, great granddaughter Brynlee Hemstreet, sister in law Camy Fischer and her husband George Fischer, life-long friends Gary and Helen Kalpakjian and dear Lake Point neighbors in McKinney, Texas. A private military service was held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas. Wallace Albert Thungstrom, age 86, of McKinney, Texas passed away on July 8, 2014.
