Jane Smith Tindall was born on January 26th 1929 in Hampton, Virginia. She left our world on July 6th, 2018 at the age of 89. Jane grew up in Hampton, Virginia where she discovered her interest in both theater and art during her time at Hampton High School. She later attended Longwood University where she received a degree in teaching allowing her to teach art in the middle school. She met her future husband, Howard Wilson Tindall Jr. (Bill), designing sets for the community theater in Hampton. In 1963, they relocated to Houston, Texas. and settled in the small town of Friendswood, Texas where Bill's career with the NACA/ NASA program evolved. There she shared her southern hospitality entertaining many of Bill's NASA connections at both home and their beach house on Bolivar. Jane was active in the Methodist church in Friendswood, taught art lessons in a studio at her home, was involved with Delphians and was a loving and dedicated mom to her four children, as well as the neighborhood kids. As her children aged, she opened her own interior design business Jane S Tindall Designs. Among other residence, she particularly enjoyed Washington DC where she enjoyed all the museums and her summer stays at their family home on Cape Cod. Her last 25 years were in Coppell, where she had very loving friends and was active with FUMC Coppell, several bridge groups, literary guild, gardening, painting and knitting. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude Alan Smith and Ruby Walker Smith, her husband Howard Wilson Tindall Jr. and sister Phyllis. Survived by her children, Dana Tindall and daughter-in-law Karen Tindall, Mark Tindall, Amy Waddill, Tiki Williams and son-in - law Chris Williams. Grandchildren, Howard Jason Harmon, Blake Waddill, Fletcher Tindall, Joel Tindall, Elizabeth Williams and Sara Williams and many great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
