Obituary

Treasure Kay Toler Hurst

Raised in Baker, Louisiana, Treasure passed away Monday, February 10, 2025. Treasure was born in Baton Rouge, the second of three daughters of Jack Carrol Toler, Jr. and Marie Elizabeth Morvant Toler in 1948. Treasure graduated from Baker High School and attended Louisiana State University.

Treasure was very generous with her time and resources. She was an accomplished artist who enjoyed volunteering her time teaching her skills to others. Treasure was a member of the Plymouth Park Babtist Church where she sung in the choir and loved to treat the ladies in her Sunday school class to outings such as Christion concerts. For years she was also an avid square dancer with her friends in Irving Texas. In her early years Treasure grew up on her family farm in Baker where she enjoyed riding horses. Later in life Treasure enjoyed going on sea cruises and travelling with her late daughter Chantelle. Treasure celebrated her 76th birthday in May with her son John and friends.

Treasure is survived by her son John Hurst and wife Lili of Lake Placid, FL, sisters Sue Carol Toler of Baker Louisiana and her sons, Beau J. Bourgeois, Brandon Toler Bourgeois, Adele (Dell) Faye Travis and husband Terry of Zachary, and their son Ryan Travis and wife Beth, Aunt Jean Whaley, Uncle Jimmie Toler, wife Evlyn and several nephews and cousins. She is also survived by former husband Jack Hurst of Naples, Florida.

Treasure was preceded in death by her parents and beloved daughter Chantelle Marie Hurst, nephew Brent Travis, and niece Angela Kimball.

The family wishes to express thanks to Sharon Dahl and her Sunday School Friends Ramona Miller, Bonnie Green, Julie Wood, Susan Charlton and Angela Storm for their love and friendship and to Desmond Mclean, her trainer along with the staff at VIP Living Centers in Irving, TX for their exceptional loving care over the years.

Her Celebration of Life will be at Plymouth Park Baptist Church, 1714 N Story Rd, Irving, TX 75061 on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 2pm until 4pm., conducted by Pastor Bob Harper. Treasure will be cremated, and ashes will be scattered where she spent her early years riding her Palomino Stallion, Rebel. Memorial donations if desired may be made to Plymouth Park Babtist Church or a charity of your choice.

It is comforting to know Treasure and her daughter Chantelle are reunited once again cruising through eternity together.
