Obituary

Karen J. Van Camp, beloved wife and mother, age 77 of Colleyville, Texas, died on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Kindred Hospital in Arlington, Texas after a long battle with cancer. She was born on December 22, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated in 1958 from Seaman High School in Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents Clayton and Lois Hudkins, brother Florris (Bud) Hudkins, and sister Leota Manis. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jerry L. Van Camp, brother Danny Hudkins and daughter Jeanne White and husband Bill, step-daughters, Sharon Rhodes, Laura Van Camp, and Carol Morrison and three grandchildren, Steven Kyle Yates, Justin White and Whitney Conklin and husband, Jeremy and two great grandchildren Annagrace Yates and Brenden Eicksteadt and nephew, Bart Hudkins. Karen worked 36 years as a Logistics Analyst for General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin Aviation Division in Fort Worth, Texas. She passionately loved her family, her country and beautiful springtime flowerbeds. Most Importantly she belonged to the family of Jesus Christ and enjoyed studying and spreading the word of God. She was a kind, caring and uplifting person who filled those around her with joy. "Trust in the Rock" was her personal belief. Her foundations of Life, Security, Community, Justice, and Faith through Grace from her Lord was her plumb line. God's foundation is the core of true believers known only to God. (Psalms 11:3 and 2 Timothy 2:19) Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with. Services to be held on April 29, 2019 at 2pm at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75211 (214)467-3374 A Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date.
