George Van Deventer Jr., age 67, died of pancreatic cancer on September 23, 2018, in Plano, Texas. George was born on February 25, 1951 in Alexandria, Louisiana, to parents the late George and Willa Van Deventer. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1973. He worked in the gas turbine repair industry for over 40 years, traveling worldwide to provide services to private and public sector customers. George was known for his unwavering faith, devotion and integrity. Family and his church life always came first throughout his life. He married Cindy in1973 and the couple had two children together. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willa and George Van Deventer. George is survived by his wife, Cindy; son, Mark; daughter, Holly and her husband, Tony; grandchildren, Connor and Ethan; siblings, John, Patrick and Ann. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willa and George Van Deventer. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church located at 5801 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093 with a reception to follow.
