Obituary

Kevin Vette Born January 29, 1957 Departed on September 9, 2015 Kevin Vette, 58, died September 9, 2015, with his son Kyle and loving wife Karen at his side in Frisco, Texas just outside of Dallas. The only comfort that can be found in his sudden passing is knowing that Kevin is in the arms of his loving mother Darlene, father Verl and son Jeremy who preceded him on the path to Heaven. A memorial service will be held on October 10 in the Denver area. Details will be posted at a later date. For now the family asks for your prayers. Kevin grew up in Wheatridge, Colorado as the youngest of three boys with his parents Darlene and Verl Vette, and his two older brothers Paul and Michael. Kevin's dad owned an operated a Chrysler automobile dealership known as "Dodge City." Working in the family business made for very close relationships and was a source of great pride for Kevin, just as it was for his dad. Kevin grew up sharing a passion for cars with his dad and his two older brothers. On May 21, 1986 he met and fell in love with his wife Karen Bridges who had moved to Colorado from Michigan. They were destined to find each other and the two were in love from the day they met. They were married on April 24, 1993 in Bradenton, Florida. The lived in Littleton, Colorado and later moved to the Dallas area where they developed a large circle of friends including Karen's work family at Chilli's corporate headquarter. Once in Texas, Kevin spent several years working at another family owned Chrysler dealer and then several more years working at the Denton State School for mentally disabled people. That job, of all, made him the happiest of all his endeavors. He was a natural caregiver and had just the perfect knack for relating to the residents there. Kevin and Karen enjoyed a great deal of travel together, but without a doubt his favorite destination was Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Kevin began vacationing in Cabo in the late 1990s. Soon, many members of the Vette family would spend that one special "Week 5" each year in Cabo. Over the years Kevin made many close personal friends in Cabo San Lucas and the Grand Solmar community. He was an avid deep sea fisherman, always the life of the party, and had the biggest heart on the beautiful beach at lands end. Karen and Kevin had one son together; Kyle, who is a special needs child. For the past 12 years Kevin has been a devoted father and full-time caregiver to Kyle. The closeness he had with Kyle meant the world to Kevin, who many times expressed how he'd do anything for his beautiful son - and he would, and he did. There are no words that can make this easy to bear, but Kevin would want us all to know he lived his life, his way. And more importantly he knew what it was to love and to be loved - so deeply, by so many.
