Vicki Saye
Lewis
Dec 28, 1944 — Jan 15, 2026
Vicki Saye Lewis
Vicki was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on December 28, 1944. This high school homecoming queen and drill team dancer later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. While she dedicated most of her time to raising her children and grandchildren, she also taught preschool at Northridge Presbyterian Church in Dallas for over 10 years.
Vicki was a faithful member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she served as a member of Daughters of the King. She was known for her no-nonsense approach to life, strong faith, and devotion to her family. Vicki loved art, especially the Impressionists, the comics section of the Dallas Morning News, being outdoors in nature, taking care of her flowers and plants, and spending time with her husband, Mickey, their children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 60 years, Mickey. They created a beautiful family and life together, weathering both the ups and downs with fortitude, grace and gratitude. Vicki is also survived by her sister, Nancy Anderson (Andy), her children: Shelley Guerra (Andres), Mike Lewis, Jr. (Courtney), Shannon Temple, Amanda Baker (Chris), and 10 grandchildren: Alexander, Mariela, Emma, Grace, Lilley, Macy, Layne, Anna Reese, Liam, and Lizzy. Vicki was preceded in death by her beloved son-in-law, Rob Temple.
Her all-encompassing love for her family and friends, and her fierce sense of loyalty will be the things Vicki will be remembered for most. Though her frame was small, her love was mighty and protective. We'll cherish the memory of her arriving at every family gathering with her box of treasured family photos that she proudly and delightedly shared with all. We'll smile at the image of her walking the neighborhood, bundled in an oversized sweatshirt, big round sunglasses, and her signature leg warmers. We'll miss receiving the greeting cards she sent for every occasion, each thoughtfully chosen for their sentiment, which perfectly reflected her own. But mostly, we will just miss her.
A celebration of life service will take place at St. John's Episcopal Church on January 31, 2026, at 11 a.m. Memorial gifts in Vicki's name may be made to White Rock Center of Hope, 10021 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218.
