Bob Vokes, 94, of Irving, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2017. Bob was born at home in Detroit, Michigan, the eldest child of Ed and Helen Vokes. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve in Detroit in 1942 and served to 1946. He spent the majority of his life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended and graduated from the University of New Mexico where he met the love of his life and late wife Becky. He was a Systems Analyst at Sandia National Laboratories for 29 years. His passions were photography and music. He was an award winning photographer, specializing in nature shots and portraits. He was also the lead singer in a barbershop quartet for over twenty years. He is survived by his three daughters, Renee Olson of Dallas, TX; Robbie Houcek, of Atlanta, GA and Roxanne Kasper of Dallas, TX and his granddaughter Amber Olson Rourke and great granddaughter Hattie Rourke of Dallas, TX. Although his physical presence will be missed, we are happy that he is reunited with his wife and is no longer dealing with the physical and mental limitations he experienced in recent years. He was so sweet, happy, loving, grateful and gracious! He loved to sing and dance and that is how we will remember him as he is now singing and dancing with his wife Becky! In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
