Rose Marie Volpe passed away Friday, May 15 at the age of 85. She was born in November of 1929. She was the oldest of six children. She leaves two sons and their wives, Marc A. Mattoni and his wife, Nancy, and David A. Mattoni, and his wife Devane', and Rose's three grandchildren, Clint Mattoni, Jared Mackey and Brian Mattoni. She is also survived by siblings, Samuel, Joan, Norma, Sarah, and Thomas, as well as many nieces and nephews. She lived many years in Detroit, MI, having married Anthony J. Mattoni at the age of 17. She was married to him for 15 years. Her second marriage to Adele Volpe was in 1969, and ended upon his passing in 1983. Rose spent most of her life as a professional hairdresser, eventually owning and operating 5 salons. She had a natural talent in that profession bolstered by her vivacious personality. As many can attest, she was known for her generosity, always willing to help others with her time and money. When Rose retired she continued part time in her profession. She loved to read, and enjoyed playing Scrabble. She loved cooking and hosting family dinner parties. One of her greatest joys was seeing her offspring happy in doing what they loved. Marc a practicing attorney and David a professional videographer/editor. Rose recently completed studying the Watchtower Society Bible study aid: "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" She truly enjoyed her Bible studies with a former missionary that served in Ecuador for over 20 years. Rose was looking forward to making her dedication to Jehovah God publicly by getting baptized. That was her desire. She loved the Scriptures and was able to attend the Memorial of Christ's death this past 2014 at the local Kingdom Hall in Stuart, FL. Her hopes upon death were to return in the resurrection to a new world of righteousness as promised in 2 Pet. 3:13. Until then we will surely miss her. Listen in to her memorial service on June 11, Music starts at 6:45 p.m. (CST) followed by the main discourse at 7:00.
