Jack Riley Waller, 80, of Richardson, Texas, died on July 15, 2018, five days after suffering a massive stroke. He leaves his wife, Louise Delano, family throughout the United States and friends throughout the U.S. and the world. Born in Fruitland, Texas, Jack ("Billy Wayne" to his family), traveled extensively, starting with the United States Navy, but he always came back home to Texas. His passions included family, friends, music, photography, flying, pets and outdoor activities. He was a gifted musician who sang with choral groups at Weatherford College, University of North Texas, and Northlake College, and with the Dallas Opera Chorus, Dallas Symphony Chorus, and Plano Civic Chorus. He was a founder and lifelong member of the Dallas Recorder Society and played the French horn at Bowie High School and later in the Richardson Community Band for almost 30 years. He enjoyed flying and held a pilot's license for many years. Early retirement from Electronic Data Systems allowed Jack the time and resources to volunteer extensively with the American Friends Service (AFS) USA Student Exchange program. For years he welcomed, instructed and mentored young people from around the world, creating many enduring friendships. Jack was always in motion and never happier than when he was outside enjoying biking, swimming, running, skiing, roller blading, ice skating, canoeing, hiking and other activities. As the youngest of 13 children, Jack leaves a large family of siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. There are no immediate services scheduled, but a memorial gathering will be planned at a later date to remember and honor Jack and to exchange favorite "Jack stories."
