In Loving Memory of Wanda Nell Wilcox

Wanda Nell Wilcox was born on October 15, 1937, at 10:35 a.m. in Corsicana, Texas. From her earliest days, Wanda had a gift for bringing people together with laughter, warmth, and love—a gift she shared generously throughout her life.

She grew up in Corsicana and graduated from Corsicana High School in May of 1956, where she was both an honor student and a cheerleader. Not long after, she married her high school sweetheart, Dale Wilcox, on May 18, 1958. Their love story was one of deep shared memories and three beautiful children.

Wanda spent 40 years working for Consolidated Xray, where she served as the administrative assistant to the President of the company. Her dedication, professionalism, and steady presence were greatly valued. After retiring, Wanda truly enjoyed life—traveling, reconnecting with old friends, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Family was everything to Wanda. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren beyond measure. She also adored her dogs, Taffy and Gidget, who were constant companions and brought her endless joy.

One of Wanda's greatest pleasures was country dancing, but her true talent was storytelling. She loved retelling funny stories, especially about her parents, Clarence and Gertrude, who provided a lot of storytelling magic. Countless hours were spent laughing until our sides hurt, listening to Wanda's stories filled with humor, love, and her signature "mercy, mercy" moments. Those memories will forever be treasured.

Wanda was baptized early in life and remained a faithful Christian until the end. Her faith guided her life and was reflected in her kindness, strength, and love for others.

Wanda is survived by her three children: Joni Wheeler, Dana Howell, and Kyle Wilcox; ten grandchildren: Chad, Levi, Kase, Kaitlyn, Lane, Taylor, Cade, McKenzie, and Camryn; five great-grandchildren: Mason, Declan, Brynlee, Paxton, and Jake; and three great-great-grandchildren: Tallen, Shayli, and Karlee; and her brother, Glen Sullivan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gertrude Sullivan; Dale Wilcox; her brother Bill Sullivan; great-grandchild Natali Watson, and great-great-grandchild Kinley Watson.

Wanda passed peacefully on January 5, 2026, at the age of 88, at home surrounded by loved ones.

Wanda's life was full of love, laughter, faith, and family. Her stories will continue to be told, her laughter will echo in our hearts, and her love will live on through generations. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

There will be a come-and-go Celebration of Life to honor Wanda on Sunday, February 01, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the home of her daughter, Dana Howell. All are welcome to stop by and share memories and honor Wanda.
