Edward A. Werner, age 89, passed away on January 20, 2016 in Garland, TX. He was born on February 23, 1926 in Doylestown, Ohio to Mr. John Werner and Ms. Louise Remark Werner. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Gus Thomasson Road in Dallas, TX. The Rosary will be held before the Memorial Service at 10:30 am. The Burial Service date is to be determined but will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Mountain Creek Parkway. Edward received his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University and his Masters in Social Work from Loyola University, Chicago. As a life-long social worker, he worked with juveniles, neglected and abused children and adult offenders. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gerry (Geraldine) Werner and his four children; daughter, Valerie Tran and husband Hao, granddaughters Christene and Theresa Tran, grandson Jonathan Tran and wife Karli and great grandchildren Brayden, Baylee and Blakely; son, Greg Werner and wife Kelly and grandson Reese; daughter, Paula South and husband Jay, grandsons Craig and Colin; son, Michael Werner and wife Kim and grandson Ethan Werner and wife Felicia and great grandchildren Jaylie and Layton.
