Obituary

Jervis Russell White of Wylie, Texas died on December 20, 2019 at the age of 87. He was born on July 20, 1932 in Vernon, Texas to Jewell Elizabeth Glover White and Oscar Lee White.

He graduated from Chillicothe High School, attended Texas A&M University and graduated from Hardin Simmons University with a BBA in 1957. Jervis proudly served his country in the United States Army in active duty for 2 years, and reserve duty for 6 years.

His entire 44-year career was in the furniture industry in Dallas, Austin, McAllen, Tyler and Waco. It was a career he loved completely. After retiring, he spent 14 years as a crossing guard for Allen ISD and was loved by his honorary grandchildren. They kept him young in spirit and step.

Jervis was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved fishing, hunting, his Dallas Cowboys, and being a YMCA football coach when his sons were young. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wylie, Texas, and formerly The Kiwanis Club, Rotary International, and the Austin, McAllen, and Dallas Gun Clubs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Wanda Lou Crudup Brasington, and her husband Frank.

Jervis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Forrestine Feezor White; sons, Thomas Russell White (Diane), Michael Len White (Marty), daughter Jessica Jewell White Stephens, stepson Michael Davis McMahon, Jr. (Genia), and stepdaughter Cynthia Lorea McMahon Cooper. He was Papa to grandchildren; James Russell White (Oretha), Coleton Len White, Lauren Elizabeth McMahon Aguirre (Juan), Kyndra Lorea Cooper Kuenzle (Jeff), Jonathon James Cooper, Kyle Campbell Stephens, Caitlynn Jewell Stephens, great-grandson Korbin Dale White, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Dallas, Texas 75234. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
